We finally got around to taking Nariah to Kohl’s and Target to let her use her gift cards from Bday and Christmas. It was interesting to see her pick and choose what to get, asking Mommy and I for our opinions on different toys. Thrifty dad even worked out a plan at Kohl’s to make separate purchases because they had a buy one get one 1/2 off deal, but had to pay for that cheaper item on its own so the 1/2 off would go towards the more pricier item. Everything’s good when we get to the checkout counter. Nariah gives the lady her cash and gift card, and the lady puts it away.
“What’s she doing with my card? It’s mine… she’s gonna give it back right?”
“Ummm, baby, you used that to pay for your toys, its like money. So she keeps it.”
“But its mine, it was my gift, I want it back”
“Baby she has to keep it because its all used up”
“ughh… Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay”
Similar time in Target, except I wised up at the checkout counter, I asked the lady if she could keep the card, and she obliged. Nariah’s a happy camper. Now its Applebee’s for dinner and then off to the grocery store. As she gets out the car and is walking to Giant’s holding Mommy’s hand, she looks back at me and says:
“Daddy… you’re gonna have to pay for everything this time, ok? I don’t have any more money because I used it all up”
“LOL, of course baby, I think I can handle it.”
lol, can i get in on that deal??!!
